EMPTY WATER BOTTLES AND GROCERY BAGS
The North End Soup Kitchen can use your empty plastic water bottles and grocery bags for their personal needs distributions. Drop off clean bottles and bags at: Holy Angels Soup Kitchen, 517 E. Fifth, Downtown Flint (Between Chippewa and Root Streets, the former St. Michael's School near St. Michael's church).
REMINISCE, BIRDS & BLOOM MAGAZINES:
Avalon Hospice would appreciate your copies of Reminisce magazine and Birds & Bloom magazine when you are finished reading them. These are wonderful magazines for hospice volunteers to read and share with those being served by hospice. FURNITURE, APPLIANCES, HOUSEHOLD ITEMS:
All types of furniture, working appliances, household goods and cleaning supplies needed for homeless families starting over. To arrange for pickup, call Ralph Pea, GCCARD Homeless Outreach Program, (810) 762-4921.
MCCREE THEATER IS SEEKING:
McCree Theatre Auxiliary is in need of a popcorn machine, utility cart and hot water urn. Contact: Delores Johnson, Auxiliary President at (810)394-6022.
TOOLS NEEDED:
For ex-offender employment initiative. Tools will be used for Weed & Seed program cleaning up parks, lots and vacant homes. Any and all yard tools needed as well as safety glasses, work gloves, weed wackers, chain saws and more. Contact: John McGarry, (810)513-9381, johnmcgar@aol.com.
CPAPs and NEBULIZERS:
Genesee Health Plan is looking for donations of gently used CPAP machines for sleep apnea patients and nebulizers. Help those who can't afford these critical health care aids by donating. Drop off your donations at Genesee Health Plan, The Beecher Professional Building, G3169 Beecher Rd., Flint during business hours. Located west of Ballenger Rd. near McLaren Hospital. (810) 232-7740
SPONSORSHIPS/SCHOOL SUPPLIES:
ChristEnrichmentCenter needs sponsorships for summer day camp. $55 per child. School supplies needed for camp: paper, pencils, crayons, markers, glue, scissors, scotch tape, folders, electric pencil sharpeners. Contact Debbie Springer, (810)239-9425.
OUTREACH PROGRAM:
North End Soup Kitchen's new Outreach Program gives free hygiene products to clients in need. Especially need bar soap, toothpaste, deodorant, men's clothing, baby items-diapers, clothing, baby food and formula. REACH RUNAWAY PROGRAM:
Helps at-risk teens staying at the shelter. Needs bath towel sets, sheet sets, laundry baskets, personal care items like toothbrushes, combs, soap, deodorant, etc., alarm clocks, good used furniture, microwaves, toasters and toaster ovens, lamps, store gift cards, beds and new clothes for teens. Also looking for backpacks, sporting equipment like baseballs and basketballs, hand held computer games and tickets to events at Whiting, the Planetarium and art events. TOILETRIES FOR THE HOMELESS:
My Brother's Keeper men's shelter needs toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent, men's razors, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner. Contact (810)234-1163.
DONATIONS:
The St. Christopher Transportation Program, which transports children from Genesee County to Children's Hospitals in Ann Arbor and Detroit daily for cancer and dialysis treatments, needs gas cards. Also gift certificate for any fast food restaurant would be appreciated so drivers can get the children and their families something to eat after treatment. DOG FOOD:

Residential treatment facility, Whaley Children's Center, for neglected and abused children needs household cleaning supplies, paper towels and toilet paper, personal care items ; twin-size plastic mattresses and covers; vacuum cleaners; living room furniture, new dishes and cooking utensils, towels, wash clothes, GPS units; gift certificates for Wal-Mart, Sam's Club or Target, Meijer, JC Penndy.
