The Warming Center is Open for Homeless Individuals Who Need Overnight Shelter!
Along with Catholic Charities of Shiawassee & Genesee Counties, Resource Genesee is hosting a Warming Center for homeless people who have nowhere else to go at night for shelter.
Where: Holy Angels Soup Kitchen (former Flint Schools of Choice building next to St. Michael's Church),
517 E. Fifth, Downtown Flint (Between Chippewa and Root Streets).
When: Every night, 7pm-7am through March, 2012.

Homeless Resource Guide (The Little Yellow Book)
Resource Genesee produces a pocket-sized Homeless Resource Guide that many people refer to as the "little yellow book." You can access this guide here and print copies for your own use. Our ability to provide copies of the book is limited and based on funding availability. But the book is always available to you free on our site.
One Stop Housing Resource Center: is a program of Resource Genesee.

If you are homeless, at risk of becoming homeless, or have special needs regarding housing, the One Stop Housing Center is here to help. This free service provides housing placement and a variety of other services, including:
- Help with medical care
- Resources like bus passes
- Rental assistance
- Social Security Insurance and Social Security Disability Insurance applications
- Medicaid applications
- Counseling
- Job readiness
- GED preparation and testing
- ID's and birth certificates
One Stop clients also have access to a computer, laundry facility, a temporary mailing address, sack lunches and personal needs supplies (when available) along with referrals for food and clothing.
All of this is free! One Stop is open Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and operates on a walk in basis. No appointments are needed. On your first visit we'll walk you through an assessment to determine your needs and services you qualify for. Please arrive prior to 3:30 p.m. for that first visit.
This effort is grant funded by Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) and United Way of Genesee County.
